Joshua 1

²“Moses, my servant, don die. So now, get up, cross di Jordan, you and all dis people, enter di land wey I dey give dem, di children of Israel. ³Every place wey your foot go step, I don give am to you, just as I promise Moses. ⁴Your border go start from di wilderness and dis Lebanon reach di big river Euphrates—all di Hittite land—and reach di Great Sea for where sun dey go down. ⁵Nobody go fit stand against you for all your life. Just as I dey with Moses, na so I go dey with you; I no go leave you or forsake you.

⁶“Be strong and get liver, because na you go lead dis people make dem inherit di land wey I swear to dia ancestors say I go give dem. ⁷Only just be strong and get plenty liver, dey careful to obey all di law wey Moses my servant command you. No turn comot from am, whether to right or to left, so dat you go fit succeed for anywhere you go. ⁸No make dis Book of di Law comot from your mouth; dey think am for day and for night, so dat you go fit carefully do everything wey dem write inside am. Den your way go prosper and you go succeed. ⁹Abi I no don command you? Be strong and get liver. No fear and no lose heart, because Me, your Papa, dey with you for anywhere you go.”

Joshua Gada di People Make Dem Cross

¹⁰Den Joshua command di officers of di people say:

¹¹“Go pass through di camp and command di people say: ‘Make una prepare food, because for three days una go cross di Jordan to enter and take di land wey una Papa dey give una make una possess am.’”

Den una go return come una own land, take am—di land wey Moses, wey be our Papa im servant, give una for di other side of di Jordan for where sun dey rise.”

¹⁶Dem answer Joshua say, “Everything wey you command us, we go do am, and anywhere you send us, we go go. ¹⁷Just as we obey Moses for everything, na so we go obey you. Only make your Papa dey with you, just as e dey with Moses. ¹⁸Anybody wey rebel against your command and no obey your words, whatever you command, dem must kill am. Only just be strong and get liver.”
