Revelation 14

Book

The Lamb and the 144,000

The Lamb stands on Zion with 144,000 marked with his Father's name, who know a song no one else can learn. Three angels fly over: good news for every nation, Babylon's fall, a warning to the beast's worshipers. Then the earth is harvested and the grapes trampled.

Chapter 14.

I saw the Lamb, Jesus, standing on Mount Zion, with 144,000 having his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads. I heard a voice from heaven like many waters roaring and like loud thunder, and the voice I heard was like harpists playing their harps. They sang a new song before the throne, four living creatures, and elders; only 144,000 rescued from earth could learn it. These are those not made unclean with women, for they are virgins. They follow Jesus, the Lamb, wherever he goes; bought from mankind, firstfruits for our Father and the Lamb, and no lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.

The Eternal Gospel Goes Out

I saw another angel flying overhead with an eternal gospel to proclaim to earth's residents—every nation, tribe, language, and people. He cried loudly, "Fear our Father, give him glory, for his judgment hour has come. Worship the maker of heaven, earth, sea, and springs of water."

Second angel followed: "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, who made all nations drink the wine of her sexual sin's passion."

A third angel followed, shouting, "Whoever worships the beast and its image and takes a mark on their forehead or hand. He too will drink the wine of our Father's wrath, undiluted in the cup of his anger, and be tormented with fire and sulfur before the holy angels and the Lamb. Their torment's smoke rises forever and ever; no rest day or night for those worshiping the beast and its image, or receiving its name's mark."

Here is the holy ones' endurance: those keeping our Father's commandments and holding their faith in Jesus.

I heard a voice from heaven: "Write: Happy are the dead who die in the Lord from now on." "Yes," says the Holy Spirit, "they rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them."

One Like a Son of Man

I looked: a white cloud, and seated on it one like a son of man—Jesus—a gold crown on his head, a sharp sickle in his hand. Another angel came out of the temple, calling loudly to the one seated on the cloud: "Put in your sickle and reap; the hour to reap has come, earth's harvest is fully ripe." So the one on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.

Then another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle. Another angel, with authority over the fire, came from the altar and cried loudly to the one holding the sharp sickle: "Send your sharp sickle and gather the clusters from earth's vine, for its grapes are ripe." The angel thrust his sickle into the earth, harvested earth's vine, and threw it into our Father's great winepress of wrath. The winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood flowed from the winepress as high as a horse's bridle for about 180 miles.
