Zechariah 13

13 ¹For dat day, one fountain go open for di house of David and for di people of Jerusalem, to wash dem comot from sin and from dirty ways.

²For dat day, na so di Papa wey get di army for heaven talk, I go cut off di names of di idol dem from di land, and nobody go remember dem again; and I go comot di prophet dem and di dirty spirit from di land.

³If any person still dey prophesy, di papa and mama wey born am go tell am, “You must die, because you don talk lie for our Papa name.” And wen he dey prophesy, im papa and mama wey born am go stab am.

⁴For dat day, every prophet go shame for im vision wen he dey prophesy; and dem no go wear cloth wey get plenty hair to deceive people.

⁵But he go talk, “I no be prophet; na farmer I be, because di land na my own since wen I be small pikin.” ⁶If person ask am, “Wetin be dis wound dem wey dey between your hand?” he go talk, “Na for di house of my friend dem I take dis wound.” ^a a v6 Di words “between your hand” na old-time idiom for wound wey person fit see for di front of di body.

Dem Strike di Shepherd, di Sheep Scatter

⁷Wake up, sword, against my shepherd, against di man wey dey stand near me, na so di Papa wey get di army for heaven talk. Strike di shepherd, and di sheep go scatter; and I go turn my hand against di small ones. ^b b v7 Jesus take dis verse put am for imsef di night wey dem arrest am: “I go strike di shepherd, and di sheep of di flock go scatter” (Matthew 26:31; Mark 14:27). ⁸And for di whole land, na so our Papa talk, two part out of three go cut off and die, but one part out of three go remain alive for inside am. ⁹Dat last one-third I go bring inside di fire; I go refine dem like silver, test dem like gold. Dem go call my name; I go answer dem. Den I go talk, “Na my children dem be,” and dem go talk, “Our Papa.”
