1 John 1

1 ¹Wetin dey from di beginning, wetin we hear, wetin we see with our own eyes, wetin we look well-well and touch with our hands—na dis one we dey announce about di Word of life, Jesus. ^a a v1 John take di one wey im touch and hear with im own body-sense open di talk — di Word of life na person, Jesus, e no be ordinary idea. ²Di life show; we see am, we testify about am, and we dey proclaim to una di life wey no dey end wey bin dey with our Papa and come show to us. ³Wetin we don see and hear, na im we dey proclaim to una too, so dat una fit share deep communion with us—our deep communion dey with our Papa and im Pikin, Jesus Christ. ⁴And we dey write dis things so dat our joy fit full complete.

To Waka for our Papa Light

⁵Na dis one we hear from am, and we dey tell una: our Papa na light—no darkness dey inside am at all. ^b b v5 Di God wey be pure light, wey no get any shadow of darkness inside am, na im be our Papa — na dis message Jesus carry, and im witness-people pass am give us. ⁶If we talk say we get communion with am, but we still dey waka for inside di darkness, we dey lie, and we no dey live di truth. ⁷But if we dey waka for inside di light, as im dey for inside di light, we dey share fellowship with each other, and di blood of im Pikin Jesus dey wash us clean from every sin. ⁸If we talk say we no get sin, we dey deceive ourself, and di truth no dey inside us. ⁹If we confess our sins, our Papa dey faithful and correct to forgive us our sins and wash us clean from all wrong-doing. ¹⁰If we talk say we no sin, we dey make am liar, and im word no dey inside us.
