Job 25

Book

Bildad Speaks Again

Bildad's last speech is six verses and has nothing left in it but distance: dominion belongs to God, even the moon and stars are not pure in his sight, so what is a mortal? A maggot, a worm. The friends' argument has run out of words.

Chapter 25.

Then Bildad the Shuhite answered: "Dominion and dread belong to him; he makes peace in his heights. Can anyone count his armies? Does his light not rise on everyone? How then can a mortal be righteous before God? How can one born of woman be pure? Look, even the moon is not bright, and the stars are not pure in his eyes; how much less a mortal, who is a maggot, and a son of man, who is a worm!"
