Hosea 6

Im dey comot sure sure like the morning light; im go come to us like the rain, like the early rain wey dey water the ground.

⁴“Wetin I go do with you, Ephraim? Wetin I go do with you, Judah? Una love be like morning cloud, like the dew wey dey disappear sharp sharp. ⁵Na dat reason make I don cut dem down through the prophets; I don kill dem with the words wey comot my mouth, and my judgment dey shine comot like light. ⁶Because na Covenant love I want, no be sacrifice, na to know our Papa pass burnt offerings. ^c c v6 Jesus quote this verse two times — “Na mercy I want, no be sacrifice” (Matthew 9:13; 12:7) — to show sey our Papa dey hungry make dem know am and love am, no be just make dem serve am with offerings. ⁷But like Adam, dem break the Covenant; na for there dem betray me, dem no keep faith with me. ⁸Gilead na city of people wey dey do evil, wey get blood footmark all over. ⁹Just like robber dem dey wait to catch person, na so the crowd of priest dem dey kill for the road wey dey go Shechem; true true, dem dey do shameful crime. ¹⁰For inside the house of Israel I don see one horrible thing: Ephraim im ashawo work dey there; Israel don spoil, e don dirty.
