Numbers 18

18 ¹Our Papa tell Aaron say, "You, your sons, and your papa house go carry di guilt of di holy place; you and your sons go carry di guilt of your priesthood. ²Bring your brothers come too—di tribe of Levi, your papa tribe—make dem join and serve you, you and your sons, for front of di tent of di testimony. ³Dem must keep your duties and all di tent im duties, but dem no go near di holy things of di sanctuary or di altar, if not, both dem and you go die. ⁴Dem go join you and keep di charge of di tent of meeting, all im service—no outsider fit come near you.

⁵Guard di holy place and di altar, so vex no go fall on di people of Israel again. ⁶I don take your fellow Levites comot from Israel im sons—na gift I give you, dem give me, make dem serve for di tent of meeting. ⁷You and your sons must guard your priesthood for all matter wey concern di altar and behind di inside curtain; make you serve dia. I dey give your priesthood as gift; any outsider wey come near must die."

Di Papa Provide For Im Servants

⁸Our Papa tell Aaron say, "I don give you charge over my contributions, all di holy gifts of Israel im people. I don give dem to you as your portion, and to your sons as share wey go dey forever. ⁹Dis one na your own from di most holy things wey dem keep from di fire: all dia offerings—every grain offering, every sin offering, and every guilt offering wey dem bring give me—na most holy, for you and your sons. ¹⁰Chop am for di most holy place; every man fit chop am—e holy to you.

¹¹Dis one too na your own: di contribution from dia gifts, all di wave offerings of Israel. I don give dem to you, your sons, your daughters wey dey with you—na law wey go dey forever. Anybody wey clean for your house fit chop am. ¹²Di best of di oil, new wine, and grain—di firstfruits wey dem give me—na you I give am. ¹³Di first produce of dia land, wey dem bring give me, na your own. Anybody wey clean for your house fit chop am.

¹⁴Every thing wey dem set apart for me for Israel na your own. ¹⁵Every firstborn of human or animal wey dem offer to me na your own—but redeem di firstborn of human being, and redeem di firstborn of animal wey no clean. ¹⁶Redeem dem when dem reach one month old for about two ounce of silver, follow di sanctuary standard.

¹⁷But di firstborn cow, sheep, or goat you no go buy back—dem holy. Splash dia blood on di altar, burn dia fat as food offering, sweet smell wey I like. ¹⁸But dia flesh na your own, just as di wave-offering chest and right thigh na your own. ¹⁹All di holy offerings wey Israel bring give me, I give you, your sons and daughters wey dey with you, as share wey go last. Na salt Covenant wey go dey forever for my front, for you and your children wey dey with you." ^a a v19 A Covenant of salt na agreement wey nobody fit break, wey go last forever — salt dey preserve and e no dey spoil, wey show say di thing go dey permanent.

²⁰Our Papa tell Aaron say, "You no go get any inheritance for dia land, no portion among dem. Na me be your portion and your inheritance among Israel im sons."

²¹"I don give di Levites all di tenth for Israel as inheritance, as pay for di service wey dem dey do, di service of di tent of meeting. ²²Di Israelites no go near di tent of meeting again, if not, dem go carry guilt and die. ²³But di Levites go serve for di tent of meeting and carry dia own guilt. Dis na law wey go dey forever for your generations: dem no go get any inheritance among di people of Israel. ²⁴For di tenth wey di people of Israel bring give me as contribution, I don give am to di Levites as dia inheritance. Na why I don tell dem say: dem no go get any inheritance among di people of Israel."

²⁵Our Papa talk to Moses say,

²⁶"Talk to di Levites and tell dem say: When you collect di tenth wey I don give you from di people of Israel as your inheritance, bring contribution from am give me—a tenth of di tenth. ²⁷Your contribution go count for you like grain from di threshing floor, like full produce from di winepress. ²⁸You too must bring contribution give me from all your tenth wey you collect from di people of Israel, and from am you go give my contribution to Aaron di priest. ²⁹From all di gifts wey dem give you, bring every offering give me—from each one, di best and di most holy part.

³⁰"So tell dem say: when you offer di best part of am, e go count for di Levites like produce of di threshing floor and winepress. ³¹Chop am for anywhere, you and your households—na your pay for di service wey you dey do for di tent of meeting. ³²You no go carry any guilt from am once you don offer di best part of am. But you no go make di holy things of Israel im sons dirty, if not, you go die."
