Praise His Name
Praise built on evidence: our Father does whatever he pleases in sea and sky, he struck Egypt, he took down Sihon and Og and handed their land over. Set beside that, idols with useless mouths and eyes leave their makers just as empty.
135 1Hallelujah! Praise the name of our Father; praise him, you servants of our Father, 2you who serve in the house of our Father, in the courts of the house of our Father.
3Praise our Father, for our Father is good; sing praises to his name, for it is pleasant. 4For our Father has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel as his treasured possession.
5For I know that our Father is great, and our Sovereign Father is above all gods. 6Whatever our Father pleased, he has done, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths. 7He makes the clouds rise from the ends of the earth; he makes lightning for the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.
8He struck down the firstborn of Egypt, both people and animals. 9He sent signs and wonders among you, Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants. 10He struck down many nations and killed mighty kings. 11Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan, 12and he gave their land as a heritage, a heritage to Israel his people.
13Your name, our Father, endures forever; your fame, our Father, throughout all generations. 14For our Father will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants.
15The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of human hands. 16They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see; 17they have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there any breath in their mouths. 18Those who make them become like them, and so do all who trust in them.
19House of Israel, bless our Father; house of Aaron, bless our Father; 20house of Levi, bless our Father; you who fear our Father, bless our Father. 21Blessed be our Father from Zion, he who dwells in Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
