Romans 13

13 ¹Everybody must submit to di people wey dey rule, because no authority dey except from our Papa, and di ones wey dey, na our Papa put dem for dia place. ²So anybody wey stand against authority dey stand against wetin our Papa don establish, and di people wey dey resist am dey bring judgment for dia own head. ³Di people wey dey rule no be threat to good work, na only bad one. You wan no fear authority? Do good, and e go praise you. ⁴Na our Papa servant e be, for your own good. But if you do bad, fear—because no be for nothing e dey carry di sword. Na our Papa servant e be, avenger wey dey bring anger for di person wey dey do bad. ⁵So dat one na why you must submit, no be only to run from punishment but also because of your conscience. ⁶Na dat one make you dey pay tax too, because di people wey get authority na our Papa ministers, wey dedicate demself to dis very work. ⁷Pay everything wey you owe: tax to di person wey you owe tax, toll to di person wey you owe toll, respect to di person wey you owe respect, honor to di person wey you owe honor.

Love Na Im Full di Law

⁸No owe anybody anything except to love one anoda, because di person wey dey love anoda person don full di law.

⁹Because di commandments—“No commit adultery, no kill person, no tif, no covet”—and any oda commandment, dem gada dem into one word: “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.”

¹⁰Love no dey do neighbor bad; so na love be di fulfillment of di law.

¹¹Do dis, as you sabi di time: di hour don already reach for you to wake from sleep—salvation don near us now pass wen we first believe. ¹²Night don almost pass, day don near. So make we comot di work of darkness and wear di armor of light. ¹³Make we live proper, as e dey for daytime: no be for wild party and drunkenness, no be for sexual sin and shameless way, no be for fight and jealousy. ¹⁴Instead, wear di Oga Jesus Christ for your body; no plan any way to satisfy di desire of di sinful nature.
