What Hungary is known for
Hungary’s Bible story runs from the first printed New Testament to the Károli Bible still read today.
The first printed New Testament, 1541
János Sylvester’s New Testament, printed at Sárvár in 1541, is the first surviving complete Hungarian New Testament and the first book printed in Hungarian in Hungary.
The Vizsoly Bible, 1590
Translated by the Calvinist pastor Gáspár Károli, it is the first surviving complete Bible in Hungarian; its 1908 edition was widely adopted.
The Káldi Bible, 1626
György Káldi’s translation, printed in Vienna, was the first complete Catholic Bible in Hungarian; it was most recently revised in 1997.
A mostly Christian answer
Of the 60% who answered the 2022 census religion question, 50% were Catholic (2.6 million Roman Catholic, 165,000 Greek Catholic), 16% Reformed and 3.1% Lutheran; 27% said they are not religious.

What “our Father” offers Hungary
Father’s Heart Bible™ does not ask Hungary to leave the Scriptures it treasures. It lets a faithful people hear, in clear Hungarian, the Father whom its own Bible reveals.
For the one who prays
Hungarians pray “Our Father in heaven” from childhood — and can read it again, as the words of One who knows them by name.
For the one left behind
To those who feel overlooked, Scripture promises “a father to the fatherless” — a Father who stays.
For the child of our Father
“…received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!’” — not a slave’s fear, but a child’s trust.

His Word will not return void
When our Father said, “Let there be light,” there was light. His Word accomplishes what He sends it to do. In a land that has had it in Hungarian since 1590, it will not return empty.
“…so will my word be that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” — Isaiah 55:11
