You Have Comforted Me
A short song for the day after judgment. The singer thanks his Father plainly for anger that has turned away and comfort that arrived, and says he will trust and not be afraid. Water is drawn with joy, and Zion sings because the Holy One is close.
12 1And in that day you will say: "I will praise you, my Father, for though you were angry with me, your anger has turned away, and you have comforted me. 2See, our Father is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid, for my Father is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation." 3With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. 4And in that day you will say: "Give thanks to our Father, call on his name, declare his deeds to all peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted. 5Sing to our Father, for he has done glorious things; let this be known in all the earth. 6Shout aloud and sing for joy, inhabitant of Zion, for the Holy One of Israel—our Father—is great in your midst."
