Father’s Heart Bible™ names our Father 9,429 times, in 8,030 verses (25.8% of the text), in 45 different forms. The most common is “our Father” (6,925 times). The word God still appears 709 times. The word Father is used for Him in 64 of the 66 books; only Esther and Ecclesiastes never use it.

How we counted

  1. Source: the locked English text, edition 2026.6 (31,085 verses, 66 books). Nothing was edited or sampled.
  2. We count every capitalised word Father (and Father’s). Lower-case father is a human father and is not counted; the plural Fathers is not counted.
  3. The name is the words directly before it: a determiner (our, your, my, the, his, her, their, no, a, one, O) and, if present, an epithet word that the text itself puts between a determiner and Father (for example sovereign, living, heavenly). Reading never crosses a comma or dash. No determiner and no epithet is plain “Father”.
  4. Every occurrence lands in exactly one name. The names add up to 9,429, and that total is checked against a second, separate count of the same text, book by book, before this page can be built.
  5. Words count, not meanings. “God” (709) and “Lord” (508, plus 70 in capitals) are shown only for scale; “Lord” also names the Son.
