Revelation 19

Book

Heaven's Hallelujah

Heaven answers her fall with hallelujahs to our Father and word that the Lamb's wedding supper has come. John tries to worship the messenger and is stopped. Then heaven opens: a rider called Faithful and True, his robe already blood-dipped. The beast and false prophet are taken.

Chapter 19.

After this I heard in heaven what sounded like a huge crowd shouting loudly: "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our Father, a a v1 Hallelujah means "Praise our Father" — the cry of the great heavenly chorus. for his judgments are true and just; he has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality, and he has avenged on her the blood of his servants."

And again they cried out: "Hallelujah! The smoke from her goes up forever and ever." Then the twenty-four elders and four living creatures fell and worshiped our Father seated on the throne, saying: "Amen! Hallelujah!"

A voice from the throne said: "Praise our Father, all his servants, who fear him, small and great."

Then I heard what sounded like the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the rumbling of mighty thunder, crying out: "Hallelujah! For the Sovereign Father Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. She was given fine linen to wear, bright and pure"—for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of our Father's holy people.

The angel told me, "Write: Blessed are those invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb." Then he said, "These are the true words of our Father."

I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Don't! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers and sisters who hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship our Father! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

Faithful and True Rides Out

Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse! Its rider—Jesus—is called Faithful and True, and he judges and makes war justly. b b v11 The rider on the white horse is Jesus — named throughout these verses as Faithful and True, The Word of God, and King of kings and Lord of lords. He returns in glory to reign. His eyes like a flame of fire, on his head many crowns, a written name only he knows. He wears a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of our Father. And the armies of heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and pure, followed him on white horses. From his mouth comes a sharp sword to strike down the nations; he will rule them with a rod of iron. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of our Father, the Almighty. On his robe and thigh a name is written: King of kings and Lord of lords.

I saw an angel standing in the sun, shouting to all the birds flying overhead, "Come, gather for the great supper of our Father, to eat kings' flesh, commanders' flesh, strong men's flesh, horses' flesh and their riders', all people's flesh—free and slave, small and great. I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies gathered to make war on the horse's rider and on his army." The beast was captured, along with the false prophet who did the signs before it, deceiving with them all who took the beast's mark and worshiped its image. Both were thrown alive into the lake of fire burning with sulfur. The rest were killed by the sword from the mouth of the horse's rider, and all the birds ate their fill of their flesh.
