A New Song
A Psalm.
A victory song for something already finished — salvation our Father won by his own arm and showed openly to the watching nations, keeping faith with Israel. Then the instruments start, and the rivers clap and the hills sing, because he comes to judge fairly.
98 1Sing to our Father a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have won him salvation. 2Our Father has made known his salvation; he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations. 3He has remembered his covenant love and his faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our Father.
4Shout for joy to our Father, all the earth; burst into joyful song and sing praises. 5Sing praises to our Father with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody. 6With trumpets and the sound of the horn, shout for joy before the King, our Father.
7Let the sea roar, and everything in it; the world and all who live in it. 8Let the rivers clap their hands; let the hills sing for joy together, 9before our Father, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with fairness.
