Psalms 98

Book

A New Song

A Psalm.

A victory song for something already finished — salvation our Father won by his own arm and showed openly to the watching nations, keeping faith with Israel. Then the instruments start, and the rivers clap and the hills sing, because he comes to judge fairly.

Chapter 98.

Sing to our Father a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have won him salvation. Our Father has made known his salvation; he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations. He has remembered his covenant love and his faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our Father.

Shout for joy to our Father, all the earth; burst into joyful song and sing praises. Sing praises to our Father with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody. With trumpets and the sound of the horn, shout for joy before the King, our Father.

Let the sea roar, and everything in it; the world and all who live in it. Let the rivers clap their hands; let the hills sing for joy together, before our Father, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with fairness.
