Psalms 125

Book

Rooted in the Father

A song of ascents.

Trust is described geographically. Those who trust are as immovable as Mount Zion, and our Father surrounds them the way the hills surround Jerusalem. Wicked rule will not stay over this land, because it would tempt good people into doing wrong.

Chapter 125.

Those who trust in our Father are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so our Father surrounds his people, now and forever. The scepter of wickedness will not rest on the land allotted to the righteous, so that the righteous will not stretch out their hands to do wrong. Do good, our Father, to those who are good, to those who are upright in their hearts. But those who turn aside to their crooked ways, our Father will lead away with the evildoers. Peace be upon Israel!
