Psalms 128

Book

Walking in His Ways

A song of ascents.

Our Father's blessing over ordinary domestic life: eating what your own hands produced, a wife like a fruitful vine, children like olive shoots around the table. It widens at the end to the city's welfare and grandchildren, and closes with peace on Israel.

Chapter 128.

Blessed is everyone who honors our Father, who walks in his ways.

You will eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you will be blessed, and things will go well for you. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children like olive shoots around your table. Look—this is how the man who honors our Father is blessed.

May our Father bless you from Zion; may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life, and may you see your children's children. Peace be upon Israel.
