Key takeawayTurkey is the cradle of the early church — and Father's Heart Bible™ (FHB) longs to reveal again, in Turkish, the Father whose story began in this very land.

Turkey at a glance

Turkey bridges Europe and Asia — a land of ancient cities, soaring mosques, and the rock valleys of Cappadocia. It is also holy ground for the Bible: here Paul was born, the disciples were first called Christians, and the Seven Churches of Revelation once shone.

What Turkey is known for

Few lands hold a richer biblical history — or a more spectacular landscape — than Turkey.

Cradle of the early church

Antioch, Ephesus, Tarsus, and the Seven Churches of Revelation all lie in Turkey — the heartland of the first Christians.

Cappadocia

The fairy chimneys and balloon-filled skies of Cappadocia are among the world’s most striking landscapes.

A bridge of continents

Istanbul straddles Europe and Asia across the Bosphorus — a crossroads of history.

Ancient Ephesus

The ruins of Ephesus, where Paul taught and John ministered, still draw the world.

Pamukkale and beyond

White travertine terraces, Mediterranean coasts, and Anatolian plains fill a land of wonders.

Warmth and hospitality

Turkish people are famed for their generosity, tea, and welcome to the stranger.

Faith and the Bible in Turkey

No land outside Israel holds more biblical history than Turkey. Here Paul of Tarsus was born; here, in Antioch, the disciples were first called Christians; here John ministered at Ephesus and wrote to the Seven Churches of Revelation; and here the early councils shaped the faith.

Today Turkey is around 99% Muslim, with only a small Christian minority — Armenian, Greek, and a growing handful of Turkish believers. For the vast majority, the Bible has never been opened.

That is the quiet wonder and need of Turkey: the cradle of the church has largely forgotten the story that began here. A translation can let this land hear again that God is a Father who draws near.

What pains Turkey

Behind Turkey’s beauty and history, families carry heavy burdens — and it is into these exact wounds that the Father’s heart speaks.

among the most refugees
of any nation on earth — millions sheltered from war next door
~50,000+
lives lost in the 2023 earthquakes, with millions displaced
orphans
the earthquakes and war left countless children without parents
economic crisis
high inflation has pressed hard on ordinary families
the stranger
millions of the displaced long for welcome and a home
the searching heart
longing, after every hardship, to be truly known and loved

Turkey shelters more refugees than almost any nation on earth; the 2023 earthquakes took tens of thousands of lives and orphaned countless children; and economic strain presses on every home. Across the land, the wound of the orphan and the displaced runs deep.

These are not statistics to a Father. They are children He longs to gather. Turkey does not need more striving — it longs to know it is held by a Father to the fatherless, near to the broken-hearted.

What “our Father” offers Turkey

Turkey was once the heartland of the faith. Father’s Heart Bible™ does not bring a foreign religion — it answers a universal longing: to be held by a Father who never abandons His children. In this translation, Scripture can reveal God not only as the Almighty, but as a Father near to the suffering.

For the orphan and the displaced

To children orphaned by earthquake and war, Scripture promises “a father to the fatherless” — a Father who gathers the child no one came back for.

For the stranger seeking a home

To the millions sheltered here from war, Father’s Heart Bible™ reveals a God who makes a home for the homeless and a family for the alone.

For the land where it began

In the cradle of the church, Father’s Heart Bible™ opens again the story that started here — where the disciples were first called Christians.

For the weary

To all who carry hardship, the Father says, “Come to me, all you who are weary… and I will give you rest.”

Why Father's Heart Bible™ for Turkey

God revealed as Father

In the land where the church was born, Father’s Heart Bible™ reveals God as Father wherever Scripture reveals Him that way — from Genesis 1:1 onward.

Genesis 1 · Yaratılış 1 31 verses

1 In the beginning, our Heavenly Father created the heavens and the earth.

1 Başlangıçta göksel Babamız gökleri ve yeri yarattı.

2 The earth was formless and empty; darkness lay over the deep's surface, and the Spirit of our Father was hovering over the waters' surface.

2 Yer boş ve şekilsizdi, karanlık enginin yüzünü kaplıyordu ve Babamızın Ruhu suların yüzü üzerinde dalgalanıyordu.

3 Then our Father said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

4 He saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.

4 Işığın iyi olduğunu gördü ve ışığı karanlıktan ayırdı.

5 He called the light "day" and called the darkness "night." There was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

5 Işığa "gündüz", karanlığa ise "gece" adını verdi. Akşam oldu, sabah oldu; ilk gün.

6 And our Father said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water."

7 He made the expanse and separated the water under it from the water above it. And it was so.

7 Böylece Babamız kubbeyi yarattı; kubbenin altındaki suları üstündeki sulardan ayırdı. Ve öyle oldu.

8 He called the expanse "sky." So there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.

8 Kubbeye "gök" adını verdi. Akşam oldu, sabah oldu; ikinci gün.

9 Then our Father said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so.

10 He named the dry ground "land," the gathered waters "seas." And he saw it was good.

10 Kuru toprağa "kara", toplanan sulara ise "deniz" adını verdi. Ve bunun iyi olduğunu gördü.

11 Then he said, "Let the land grow vegetation: seed-bearing plants, fruit trees bearing fruit with seed in it, after its kind." And it was so.

12 The land produced vegetation—seed-bearing plants by kind, and trees bearing seed-bearing fruit by kind—and our Father saw that it was good.

13 And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.

13 Akşam oldu, sabah oldu; üçüncü gün.

14 And our Father said, "Let there be lights in the sky's expanse to separate day from night, and serve as signs to mark seasons, days, and years,

15 and let them be lights in the sky's expanse, to give light on the earth." And it was so.

15 "ve gök kubbesinde ışıklar olup yeryüzünü aydınlatsınlar." Ve öyle oldu.

16 Our Father made two great lights—the greater light to rule the day, the lesser light to rule the night. He also made the stars.

16 Babamız iki büyük ışık yarattı: gündüze egemen olması için büyük ışığı, geceye egemen olması için küçük ışığı. Yıldızları da yarattı.

17 He set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth,

17 Yeryüzünü aydınlatmaları için onları gök kubbesine yerleştirdi,

18 to rule the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. He saw it was good.

18 gündüze ve geceye egemen olsunlar ve ışığı karanlıktan ayırsınlar diye. Ve bunun iyi olduğunu gördü.

19 So there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.

19 Akşam oldu, sabah oldu; dördüncü gün.

20 Then our Father said, "Let the water swarm with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth, across the sky's expanse."

20 Sonra Babamız, "Sular canlı yaratıklarla dolup taşsın ve kuşlar yeryüzünün üzerinde, gök kubbesinde uçsun" dedi.

21 So he created the great sea creatures, every living creature that moves and swarms in the water by its kind, and every winged bird by its kind. And he saw it was good.

22 Our Father blessed them and said, "Be fruitful, multiply, fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on earth."

22 Babamız onları kutsayarak, "Verimli olun, çoğalın ve denizlerdeki suları doldurun; kuşlar da yeryüzünde çoğalsın" dedi.

23 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.

23 Akşam oldu, sabah oldu; beşinci gün.

24 And our Father said, "Let the land produce living creatures by kind: livestock, crawling creatures, and wild animals, each by kind." And it was so.

24 Babamız, "Kara, türlerine göre canlı yaratıklar çıkarsın: evcil hayvanlar, yerde sürünen yaratıklar ve yabani hayvanlar, her biri kendi türüne göre" dedi. Ve öyle oldu.

25 He made wild animals by their kind, livestock by their kind, and every creature crawling the ground by its kind. And he saw that it was good.

26 Then our Father said, "Let us make humanity in our image, in our likeness, to rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock, all the earth, and every creature crawling on the ground."

26 Sonra Babamız, "İnsanı kendi suretimizde, kendi benzeyişimizde yaratalım; öyle ki denizdeki balıklara, gökteki kuşlara, evcil hayvanlara, bütün yeryüzüne ve yerde sürünen her yaratığa egemen olsunlar" dedi.

27 So our Father created humanity in his own image; in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

27 Böylece Babamız insanı kendi suretinde yarattı; onları Baba, Oğul ve Kutsal Ruh'un suretinde yarattı; onları erkek ve dişi olarak yarattı.

28 Our Father blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and subdue it. Rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and every living creature that moves on the earth."

28 Babamız onları kutsadı ve onlara, "Verimli olun, çoğalın; yeryüzünü doldurun ve onu yönetiminiz altına alın. Denizdeki balıklara, gökteki kuşlara ve yerde hareket eden her canlı yaratığa egemen olun" dedi.

29 Then he said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant across the whole earth, and every tree with seed-bearing fruit—they will be your food.

29 Sonra, "İşte, bütün yeryüzünün üzerindeki tohum veren her otu ve içinde tohum bulunan meyve veren her ağacı size veriyorum. Bunlar size yiyecek olacak." dedi.

30 To every animal of the earth, every bird of the sky, everything crawling on the ground with breath of life, I give every green plant for food." And so it happened.

30 "Yeryüzündeki bütün hayvanlara, gökteki bütün kuşlara ve yerde sürünen bütün yaratıklara —içinde yaşam soluğu olan her şeye— yiyecek olarak yeşil bitkilerin hepsini veriyorum." Ve öyle oldu.

31 Our Father saw all he had made, and it was very good. So there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.

John 3 · Yuhanna 3 36 verses

1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.

1 Ferisiler'den, Yahudiler'in önderlerinden Nikodim adında bir adam vardı.

2 This man came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from our Father, for no one can do these signs you do unless our Father is with him."

3 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I tell you: unless someone is born from above, he can't see the kingdom of our Father."

3 İsa ona şöyle karşılık verdi: "Sana doğrusunu, doğrusunu söylüyorum: Bir kişi yeniden doğmadıkça Babamız'ın egemenliğini göremez."

4 Nicodemus asked, "How can a man be born when he's old? Can he enter his mother's womb again and be born?"

4 Nikodim O'na, "Yaşlanmış bir adam nasıl doğabilir? İkinci kez annesinin rahmine girip doğabilir mi?" dedi.

5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I tell you, unless one is born of water and the Holy Spirit, he can't enter our Father's kingdom.

5 İsa şu yanıtı verdi: "Sana doğrusunu, doğrusunu söylüyorum: Bir kişi sudan ve Kutsal Ruh'tan doğmadıkça Babamız'ın egemenliğine giremez."

6 Born of the flesh is flesh, and born of the Holy Spirit is spirit.

6 Bedenden doğan bedendir, Kutsal Ruh'tan doğan ise ruhtur.

7 Don't be amazed that I said to you, 'You must be born from above.'

7 Size, 'Yeniden doğmalısınız' dediğime şaşmayın.

8 Wind blows where it wants; you hear its sound but don't know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."

8 Yel dilediği yerde eser; sesini duyarsın, ama nereden gelip nereye gittiğini bilmezsin. Kutsal Ruh'tan doğan herkes de böyledir.

9 Nicodemus said to him, "How can these things be?"

9 Nikodim O'na, "Bunlar nasıl olabilir?" dedi.

10 Jesus answered him, "Are you the teacher of Israel and yet you do not understand these things?

10 İsa ona şöyle yanıt verdi: "Sen İsrail'in öğretmeni olduğun halde bunları anlamıyor musun?"

11 Truly, truly, I tell you: we speak what we know, we testify to what we've seen, yet you don't accept our testimony.

11 Sana doğrusunu, doğrusunu söylüyorum: Biz bildiğimizi söylüyor ve gördüğümüze tanıklık ediyoruz; ama siz tanıklığımızı kabul etmiyorsunuz.

12 If I told you earthly things and you don't believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

12 Size dünyasal şeyleri söylediğimde inanmıyorsanız, göksel şeyleri söylediğimde nasıl inanacaksınız?

13 No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.

13 Gökten inmiş olan İnsanoğlu'ndan başka hiç kimse göğe çıkmamıştır.

14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,

14 Musa çölde yılanı nasıl yukarı kaldırdıysa, İnsanoğlu da öylece yukarı kaldırılmalıdır;

15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

16 For our Father so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

17 For our Father did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but so the world could be saved through him.

17 Çünkü Babamız, Oğlu'nu dünyayı yargılamak için dünyaya göndermedi, dünya O'nun aracılığıyla kurtulsun diye gönderdi.

18 Whoever believes in him isn't condemned; whoever doesn't believe is condemned already, for not believing in the name of the one and only Son of our Father.

19 This is the judgment: light has entered the world, and people loved darkness more than light because their deeds were evil.

20 Everyone who does evil hates the light and won't come to the light, so that his deeds aren't exposed.

20 Çünkü kötülük yapan herkes ışıktan nefret eder ve yaptıkları açığa çıkmasın diye ışığa gelmez.

21 But whoever does the truth comes to the light, so it may be revealed that his works have been done in our Father."

22 After this, Jesus and his disciples went into the Judean countryside, where he stayed with them, baptizing.

22 Bundan sonra İsa öğrencileriyle birlikte Yahudiye kırsalına gitti; orada onlarla birlikte kaldı ve vaftiz ediyordu.

23 John also baptized at Aenon near Salim, since water was plentiful there, and people came and were baptized,

24 for John had not yet been put in prison.

24 çünkü Yahya henüz zindana atılmamıştı.

25 Now a discussion arose between some of John's disciples and a Jew over purification.

26 They came to John and said, "Rabbi, the man with you beyond the Jordan, the one you testified about—he's baptizing, and everyone goes to him."

26 Yahya'ya gelip O'na, "Rabbî, Şeria Irmağı'nın karşı yakasında seninle birlikte olan ve kendisine tanıklık ettiğin adam, işte O vaftiz ediyor ve herkes O'na gidiyor" dediler.

27 John replied, "A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given him from heaven.

27 Yahya şöyle karşılık verdi: "İnsana gökten verilmedikçe, o tek bir şey bile alamaz."

28 You yourselves can testify: I said 'I'm not the Christ, but sent ahead of him.'

28 'Ben Mesih değilim, ama O'nun önünden gönderildim' dediğime siz kendiniz tanıklık edebilirsiniz.

29 The one with the bride is the bridegroom—Jesus. The bridegroom's friend, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom's voice. So my joy is now complete.

30 He must increase, but I must decrease."

30 O büyümeli, bense küçülmeliyim.

31 The one who comes from above is above all. The one from earth belongs to earth and speaks in an earthly way. The one who comes from heaven is above all.

31 Yukarıdan gelen, her şeyin üstündedir.

32 He bears witness to what he has seen and heard, yet no one receives his testimony.

33 Whoever receives his testimony confirms that our Father is true.

33 O'nun tanıklığını kabul eden, Babamız'ın gerçek olduğunu onaylamış olur.

34 The one our Father sent speaks our Father's words, for he gives the Holy Spirit without measure.

34 Çünkü Babamız'ın gönderdiği kişi Babamız'ın sözlerini söyler; çünkü O, Kutsal Ruh'u ölçüsüzce verir.

35 Our Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand.

35 Babamız Oğlu'nu sever ve her şeyi O'nun eline vermiştir.

36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever disobeys the Son won't see life—our Father's wrath remains on him.

36 Oğul'a iman edenin sonsuz yaşamı vardır; Oğul'a itaat etmeyen ise yaşamı görmeyecek, tersine Babamız'ın gazabı onun üzerinde kalacaktır.

Where the gospel went out

From Antioch in Turkey, Paul and Barnabas were first sent to the nations. To reawaken faith here is to honor the very birthplace of Christian mission.

A bridge of continents

Turkey joins Europe and Asia. The Father’s heart, received here, sits at a crossroads of the world.

A Turkic family of languages

Turkish is related to tongues across Central Asia — Azerbaijani, Turkmen, Uzbek, and more — opening a wide door for the Father’s heart.

A wide diaspora

Millions of Turkish speakers live across Germany, Europe, and beyond, carrying their language and longing with them.

His Word will not return void

When our Father said, “Let there be light,” there was light. His Word accomplishes what He sends it to do. From Cappadocia’s valleys to every home touched by quake and war, His Word will not return empty — it will find the orphan and the displaced, and it will not fail.

“…so will my word be that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” — Isaiah 55:11

Frequently asked questions

Is Christianity legal in Turkey?

Yes — Turkey is a secular state and Christianity is legal, though Christians are a tiny minority (about 0.2%) in a nation that is roughly 99% Muslim, and believers can face social pressure. This is the land where the disciples were first called Christians, in Antioch. You can read and hear the Scriptures free in Father's Heart Bible™ at fathersheartbible.com/read.

Why are there so few Christians in Turkey?

Though Asia Minor was the heartland of the early church — home to Antioch, Tarsus, Ephesus, and the seven churches of Revelation — centuries of history left Turkey about 99% Muslim, with Christians now only around 0.2% of the population, roughly 180,000 people. Their Scriptures remain free to read online with audio in Father's Heart Bible™ at fathersheartbible.com/read.

Can I read the Bible online free in Turkey?
