Bezalel, Oholiab, and a Willing People
36 1 So Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person to whom our Father has given skill and understanding to carry out all the work of building the sanctuary shall work according to all that our Father has commanded.
2 Then Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person in whose heart our Father had put skill, everyone whose heart was stirred to come and do the work. 3 And they received from Moses all the contribution that the Israelites had brought for the work of building the sanctuary. Still the people kept bringing him freewill offerings morning after morning. 4 So all the skilled workers who were doing every kind of work on the sanctuary came, each from the task he was doing, 5 and they said to Moses, "The people are bringing much more than enough for doing the work that our Father commanded us to do."
6 So Moses gave an order, and they sent word throughout the camp: "Let no man or woman make any more contributions for the sanctuary." And the people stopped bringing, 7 for what they already had was enough to do all the work, and more than enough.
Ten Curtains of Linen and Gold
8 All the skilled workers among them made the tabernacle with ten curtains of finely twisted linen, blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, with cherubim skillfully worked into them.
Joined Into One
9 Each curtain was about forty-two feet long and six feet wide; all the curtains were the same size. 10 He joined five of the curtains to one another, and the other five he joined to one another. 11 He made loops of blue on the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set; he did the same on the edge of the outermost curtain in the second set. 12 He made fifty loops on the first curtain, and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain in the second set, with the loops opposite one another. 13 And he made fifty clasps of gold and joined the curtains to one another with the clasps, so that the tabernacle became one whole.
The Goat-Hair Tent
14 He also made curtains of goats' hair for a tent over the tabernacle; he made eleven of them. 15 Each curtain was about forty-five feet long and six feet wide; the eleven curtains were the same size. 16 He joined five of the curtains together, and the other six together. 17 He made fifty loops on the edge of the outermost curtain of the first set, and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain of the second set. 18 He made fifty clasps of bronze to join the tent together, so that it might be one whole. 19 And he made a covering for the tent of ram skins dyed red, and a covering of fine leather above that.
Frames, Bases, and Bars
20 Then he made the upright frames for the tabernacle of acacia wood. 21 Each frame was about fifteen feet long and twenty-seven inches wide. 22 Each frame had two tenons, joined to one another; he did the same for all the frames of the tabernacle. 1 1 v22 A tenon is a projecting wooden peg at the base of each frame that fits into a slot in the silver base, locking the frame upright. 23 He made the frames for the tabernacle: twenty frames for the south side. 24 And he made forty silver bases under the twenty frames—two bases under one frame for its two tenons, and two bases under the next frame for its two tenons. 25 For the second side of the tabernacle, the north side, he made twenty frames 26 and their forty silver bases, two bases under one frame and two bases under the next frame. 27 For the rear of the tabernacle, on the west, he made six frames. 28 He made two frames for the corners of the tabernacle at the rear. 29 They were doubled at the bottom and joined together at the top into a single ring; he did the same with both of them at the two corners. 30 So there were eight frames with their silver bases—sixteen bases, two under each frame.
31 He made bars of acacia wood: five for the frames on one side of the tabernacle, 32 five bars for the frames of the second side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the frames at the rear, on the west. 33 He made the middle bar to run through the frames from end to end. 34 He overlaid the frames with gold, made their rings of gold to hold the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold.
The Inner Veil
35 He made the veil of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen, with cherubim skillfully worked into it. 36 He made for it four pillars of acacia and overlaid them with gold; their hooks were of gold, and he cast for them four silver bases.
The Entrance Screen
37 He also made a screen for the entrance of the tent, of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen, the work of an embroiderer, 38 and its five pillars with their hooks. He overlaid their tops and their connecting rods with gold, but their five bases were of bronze.
