Hallelujah
Do not put your hope in princes, whose plans die with them the same day they do. The alternative is our Father, listed by what he actually does: justice for the oppressed, bread for the hungry, prisoners freed, foreigners, orphans and widows kept.
146 1Hallelujah! Praise our Father, my soul.
2I will praise our Father while I live; I will sing to our Father as long as I breathe.
3Do not put your trust in princes, in a mortal who cannot save you. 4His spirit departs, he returns to the ground; on that very day his plans perish. 5Happy is the one whose helper is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in our Father.
6He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them; he keeps faithfulness forever. 7He brings justice to the oppressed; he gives bread to the hungry. Our Father sets the prisoners free. 8Our Father opens the eyes of the blind; our Father lifts up those who are weighed down; our Father loves the righteous. 9Our Father watches over the foreigners; he upholds the orphan and the widow, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.
10Our Father will reign forever—your Father, Zion, to all generations. Hallelujah!
