You spend every shift caring for people at their weakest. Your Father cares for you at yours

He went to him, bandaged his wounds, poured on oil and wine, put him on his own animal, took him to an inn, and cared for him.

Luke 10:34 (FHB)

A man lay half dead on the road to Jericho, and two travelers passed him by. A Samaritan stopped. Jesus told what he did in plain, practical detail, the way a nurse would chart it. Every act of care you give, the Son counts as given to Him. Your Father sees every one.

What makes this a Bible for nurses

Registered nurses and nurse practitioners, nursing assistants and nursing students, retired nurses and every hand that cares for the sick: the Nurse's Bible from Father's Heart Bible™ (FHB) is the Holy Bible made for you.

Father's Heart Bible™ in Divine Voice Color™ is a complete Bible, Old and New Testaments, in a fresh translation from the original Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek that reveals God as your Father. It is the first Bible in print where you can see who is speaking: our Father's words in BLUE, the Son's words in RED, the Spirit's words in PURPLE.

It equips you to receive the Father, hear His voice, and know His heart is for you.

For registered nurses, nurse practitioners, licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, nursing students, midwives, ICU and ER nurses, labor and delivery, pediatric, travel and school nurses. For every unit where you serve: emergency, NICU, oncology, surgery, hospice and home health.

For a hundred and twenty-five years, red letters have shown the Son speaking. Our Father speaks more than three times as often, and until now every word He spoke was printed in black. Now you can see Him speak on every page.

A nurse spends the long shift strengthening others — the frightened patient, the grieving family, the new colleague — and goes home with nothing left. Our Father speaks to exactly that: "Fear not, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your Father. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10) And the Son counts every act of care as done to Him: "sick and you cared for me" (Matthew 25:36). This is a devotional Bible for daily Bible reading and intimacy with God — for the break room, the drive home, and the quiet before the next shift.

An interpretive translation with a stated theological emphasis: the revelation of God as Father. Not a paraphrase — every word is rendered from the original Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek.

Receive the Father. Hear His voice. His heart is for you.

Contents

All sixty-six books, Genesis through Revelation, with page numbers.

Hearing your Father’s voice

You do not have to earn His voice, decode it, or qualify for it. You have to receive Him.

Our Father speaks

That is not a reward for the mature; it is what kind of Father He is. He has never been silent, and He did not stop when the last page of Scripture was written. He speaks because He is a Father, and a Father talks to His children.

Hebrews 1:1
Long ago, in many times and many ways, our Heavenly Father spoke to our ancestors through the prophets.
Jeremiah 33:3
Call to me, and I’ll answer, and tell you great, hidden things you don’t know.

We hear His voice

When you doubt your own ability to hear, trust His ability to speak. He is not a poor communicator, and He is not hiding from His own child. Notice that the sheep are never described as skilled listeners — only as His.

John 10:27
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
Isaiah 30:21
Your ears will hear a word behind you: “This is the way; walk in it,” when you turn right or left.
John 16:13
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth.
1 Samuel 3:10
Then our Father came, stood there, and called as before: “Samuel! Samuel!” Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.”

The foundation is intimacy

We usually come wanting guidance for one decision, and He answers with something larger: the greatest gift I will ever give you is me. Seek the Father before you seek the answer, and you will find you have been hearing Him all along.

Psalm 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am the Father.”
Matthew 11:28
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

He Has Been Speaking The Whole Time

For a hundred and twenty-five years, the red letter Bible has shown you the Son speaking. Our Father speaks more than three times as often, and until now every word He spoke was printed in black. Now you can see Him speak on every page. The color marks ownership, not quotation: His words stay His on any lips that carry them faithfully, and words He never spoke are never colored.

You Hold Up Others All Shift. Your Father Holds You Up.

A nurse spends the long shift strengthening others — the frightened patient, the grieving family, the new colleague — and goes home with nothing left. Our Father speaks to exactly that: "Fear not, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your Father. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10)

And the Son counts every act of care as done to Him: "sick and you cared for me" (Matthew 25:36). This is a devotional Bible for daily Bible reading and intimacy with God — for the break room, the drive home, and the quiet before the next shift.

Father Is His Name

God is our Father. Not a role He plays. Father is who He is, and Father is His name, the name Jesus came to reveal. This translation lets the Hebrew and Greek speak the distinction they always made: Abba Father, your Heavenly Father, and you, His beloved son or daughter. If the word father is not a word of comfort for you, this Bible is especially for you. The Father revealed here is no projection of broken human fatherhood. He is the original, from whom every family in heaven and on earth takes its name.

About this translation

Why this translation exists

The destination was always the Father

Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). For generations the church heard the way to heaven. He said the way to the Father. The destination was never merely forgiveness, and never merely heaven. It was the Father Himself.

From the first page to the last, Scripture tells one story: a perfect and loving Father pursuing and restoring His beloved sons and daughters through the blood of His Son and by the Holy Spirit. Father’s Heart Bible™ exists for one reason: so you can hear that story in Father’s own voice, and come home.

Father is His name

We believe in One God in Three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. At the center of the Trinity is a Father. Not a role God plays. “God” is not a name. It is what He is. Father is who He is.

He is not one of many gods. He is not an idol. He is Father, and Father is His name — the name Jesus came to reveal. “I revealed your name to those you gave me from the world” (John 17:6). In Revelation 7:9–12 a multitude too numerous to count, from every nation, tribe, and language, shouts one thing: “Salvation belongs to our Father, seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!” The focus of Heaven is the Father.

Who never calls Him Father

Notice who, in Scripture, relates to God only as a distant deity and never as Father. The serpent in Eden, who recast a generous Father as a withholding rival: “Did God really say…?” (Genesis 3:1). The accuser and the arguing friends in Job, who debated a remote and transactional judge, until Job himself moved from hearing about God to seeing Him. Pharaoh, who sneered, “Who is God, that I should obey his voice?” (Exodus 5:2). The nations who served gods of wood and stone. Even the tempter in the wilderness aimed his attack straight at the bond of sonship: “If you’re the Son of God…” (Matthew 4:3).

The enemy’s strategy has never changed since the garden: to make the Father seem distant, demanding, and disappointed. For too long, “God” and “the LORD” left that caricature unchallenged. Father’s Heart Bible™ lets the Hebrew and Greek speak the distinction they always made, between a deity to be appeased and a Father to be received.

Hear His voice

For a hundred and twenty-five years, red letters have shown readers the words of the Son. Our Father speaks more than three times as often, and until now every one of those words has been printed exactly like the genealogies around them. In this Bible you can see who is speaking. Our Father’s words in BLUE. The Son’s in RED. The Spirit’s in PURPLE.

The color is a mark of ownership, not of quotation: our Father’s words stay His on any lips that carry them faithfully, and words He never spoke are never colored. Narration stays black.

The Trinity, rightly seen

This recovery does not diminish the Trinity; it clarifies it. The one God exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, three persons in one essence, and Father’s Heart Bible™ honors each. The Father initiates, sends, and gives. The Son reveals, redeems, and reconciles us to the Father. The Spirit applies, confirms, and pours Father’s love into our hearts.

Three realities shape how we translate, beginning at the very first verse. The incarnation: the Son revealed the Father perfectly — “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father” (John 14:9). Pentecost: the Spirit of sonship was poured out, crying from within His children, “Abba, Father” (Romans 8:15; Galatians 4:6). And the sealed canon: with the last book written, the whole story finally came into view — one Father, one redemption, one family.

What it is not

Not a paraphrase, and not an adaptation of any existing English Bible. Not a study Bible or commentary — the notes serve the reader, not the scholar. Not the work of a committee: every rendering and every interpretive decision is our own, and our own responsibility. Not abridged. It reads 135,000 words shorter than the King James because contemporary English says the same thing in fewer words. Every verse. Every book.

How it renders the divine names

Where a word for God stands in a clearly relational or covenantal setting, it is rendered “our Father.” Elsewhere the customary rendering is kept, and Adonai and Kurios are always rendered “Lord.” At Genesis 1:1, “God” (Elohim) is rendered “our Heavenly Father.”

Hearing your Father’s voice

You do not have to earn His voice, decode it, or qualify for it. You have to receive Him. Our Father speaks — that is not a reward for the mature; it is what kind of Father He is. He has never been silent, and He did not stop when the last page of Scripture was written. He speaks because He is a Father, and a Father talks to His children.

And you hear Him. When you doubt your own ability to hear, trust His ability to speak. Notice that the sheep are never described as skilled listeners — only as His. “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). He rarely shouts over the noise. He speaks close, the way a father speaks to a child in his own house — and the quiet of it is not distance, it is nearness.

Questions

What makes the Nurse's Bible different from the other editions?

It is the complete Father's Heart Bible™ in Divine Voice Color — every book, every page, nothing abridged — with a cover and opening pages made for a nurse. Those pages include a dedication, Where to Turn, and a presentation page for their name. Everything from Genesis 1:1 onward is the same Bible every other edition carries.

Is the Nurse's Bible a complete Bible?

Yes. All 66 books, 1,189 chapters and 31,085 verses, 890 pages, full color throughout. An introduction opens each book, a Father's note and short prayer closes each one, and 1,355 study notes run through the whole Bible.

Is it a good gift for nurses?

It is made for it. A 6 x 9 Bible in hardcover or paperback with a presentation page for their name, in a cover made for nurses rather than a generic pew edition.

What is Divine Voice Color?

For a hundred and twenty-five years red letters have shown the Son speaking. Our Father speaks more than three times as often — 128,579 words across 5,615 verses — and until now those words were printed in the same black ink as the genealogies. In Divine Voice Color you see who is speaking: our Father's words in BLUE, the Son's in RED, the Spirit's in PURPLE. More than one word in four of the Bible is a divine person speaking. The color is a mark of ownership, not of quotation — His words stay His on any lips that carry them faithfully, and words He never spoke are never colored.
