The Bronze Altar
27 1 Make the altar of acacia wood, seven and a half feet long and seven and a half feet wide—the altar shall be square—and four and a half feet high.
Horns, Grating, and Poles
2 Make horns on its four corners, the horns of one piece with it, and overlay it with bronze. 3 Make pots to remove its ashes, and shovels, basins, forks, and firepans; make all its utensils of bronze. 4 Make for it a grating, a network of bronze, and on the net make four bronze rings at its four corners. 5 Set it under the ledge of the altar, so that the net reaches halfway up the altar. 6 Make poles for the altar, poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with bronze. 7 The poles shall be put through the rings, so that the poles are on the two sides of the altar when it is carried. 8 Make it hollow, with boards. As it was shown to you on the mountain, so they shall make it.
The Courtyard
9 Make the courtyard of the tabernacle. On the south side the courtyard shall have curtains of finely twisted linen, about a hundred and fifty feet long for that side,
Posts, Hangings, and the Gate
10 with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases; the hooks of the posts and their bands shall be of silver. 11 Likewise for the north side, the curtains shall be about a hundred and fifty feet long, with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases; the hooks of the posts and their bands shall be of silver. 12 For the width of the courtyard on the west side there shall be curtains about seventy-five feet long, with ten posts and ten bases. 13 The width of the courtyard on the east side, toward the sunrise, shall be about seventy-five feet. 14 The curtains for one side of the gate shall be about twenty-two and a half feet, with three posts and three bases. 15 On the other side there shall also be curtains about twenty-two and a half feet, with three posts and three bases. 16 For the gate of the courtyard there shall be a screen about thirty feet long, of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen, embroidered with needlework, with four posts and four bases. 17 All the posts around the courtyard shall be banded with silver; their hooks shall be of silver, and their bases of bronze. 18 The length of the courtyard shall be about a hundred and fifty feet, the width about seventy-five feet throughout, and the height about seven and a half feet, of finely twisted linen, with bases of bronze. 19 All the utensils of the tabernacle for every use, and all its pegs and all the pegs of the courtyard, shall be of bronze.
Oil for the Continual Lamp
20 You shall command the Israelites to bring you pure oil of beaten olives for the light, to keep a lamp burning continually.
Aaron and His Sons Before Our Father
21 In the tent of meeting, outside the veil that is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall tend it from evening to morning before our Father. It shall be a lasting statute throughout their generations on behalf of the Israelites. 1 1 v21 'The testimony' refers to the stone tablets of the law kept inside the Ark of the Covenant.
