Joshua 16

16 ¹ The lot for Joseph's descendants ran from the Jordan at Jericho, east of its waters, into the wilderness rising from Jericho through the hill country to Bethel. ² It went from Bethel to Luz, on to the Archite border at Ataroth. ³ It went down westward to the border of the Japhletites, to the border of Lower Beth-horon, to Gezer, and ended at the sea.

⁴ So the descendants of Joseph — Manasseh and Ephraim — received their inheritance. ⁵ Ephraim's descendants had this territory by clans: their eastern border ran from Ataroth-addar to Upper Beth-horon. ⁶ The border went to the sea, with Michmethath on the north; it turned east to Taanath-shiloh, passing east of it to Janoah. ⁷ Then it went down from Janoah to Ataroth and Naarah, reached Jericho, and ended at the Jordan. ⁸ From Tappuah the border went west to the Brook of Kanah, ending at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of Ephraim's descendants, by their clans. ⁹ Ephraim's descendants also had towns set apart within the inheritance of Manasseh's descendants — all the towns with their villages. ¹⁰ But they did not drive out the Canaanites in Gezer; the Canaanites still live among Ephraim to this day, forced into labor.
