2 Chronicles 5

5 ¹ All the work that Solomon did for the house of our Father was finished. Then Solomon brought in the dedicated things of his father David—the silver, the gold, and all the vessels—and placed them in the treasuries of the house of our Father.

² Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the leaders of the ancestral families of the people of Israel, to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of our Father from the City of David, which is Zion. ³ So all the men of Israel gathered before the king at the feast, which is in the seventh month. ^a a v3 The feast in the seventh month is the Festival of Shelters, Israel's great autumn harvest celebration. ⁴ When all the elders of Israel had come, the Levites took up the ark. ⁵ They brought up the ark, the tent of meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the tent; the priests and the Levites brought them up. ⁶ And King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel who had assembled before him stood before the ark, sacrificing so many sheep and oxen that they could not be counted or numbered. ⁷ Then the priests brought the ark of the covenant of our Father to its place, to the inner sanctuary of the house, the Most Holy Place, beneath the wings of the cherubim. ⁸ For the cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark, covering the ark and its carrying poles from above. ⁹ The poles were so long that their ends could be seen from the ark in front of the inner sanctuary, but they could not be seen from outside; and they are there to this day. ¹⁰ There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets that Moses had placed there at Horeb, where our Father made a covenant with the people of Israel when they came out of Egypt.

¹¹ Then the priests came out of the holy place. (For all the priests who were present had consecrated themselves, without regard to their divisions, ^b b v11 Priests served in rotating duty groups called divisions, each assigned a specific week in the temple calendar. ¹² and all the Levitical singers—Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and relatives—stood on the east side of the altar, dressed in fine linen and playing cymbals, harps, and lyres, together with a hundred and twenty priests blowing trumpets.) ¹³ The trumpeters and singers performed together as one in praise and thanks to our Father. Raising their voices with the trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments, they praised him: "For he is good; his covenant love endures forever." Then the house of our Father was filled with a cloud, ¹⁴ so that the priests could not stand and minister because of the cloud, for the glory of our Father filled the house of our Father.
