These are the proposed renderings of FHB's key terms. The heart of the review: wherever English says our Father, the rendering must feel like a beloved child addressing their own father — warm, reverent, natural to your language's Bible — and never the distant generic word for "God." Mark anything that reads wrong, stiff, or irreverent. Tip: your browser's translate feature can back-translate this page as a second witness. Approvals or corrections go to Kevin White.

Reverent contemporary Bible Tamil calibrated to the beloved Protestant Old Version tradition — பரிசுத்த வேதாகமம் (the 1871 Tamil Union / O.V. revision family that most Tamil churches read and quote from memory) — with its warmth eased toward the இந்திய சமகால தமிழ் மொழிபெயர்ப்பு (Indian Contemporary Tamil) where the O.V.'s literary Tamil would feel cold. The filial name draws on the O.V.'s own பிதா / பரமபிதா address (the Lord's-Prayer wording 'எங்கள் பிதாவே'), which a Tamil believer already hears as a child's word for their own father, never as the abstract தேவன்.
Quotation marks
Double quotation marks “…” for speech, single ‘…’ for a quote nested inside; guillemets are not used in Tamil Scripture typesetting.
Poetry lines
Poetry (Psalms, Proverbs, prophetic oracles) set as broken indented verse-lines, one poetic colon per line; the second member of a parallel couplet is further indented so the parallelism is visible, matching O.V. poetic layout.

Terms we deliberately avoid
These common words carry another religion's meaning, so Scripture in Tamil has always chosen different vocabulary — and so do we. Please don't recommend them; the established Bible alternative is listed beside each.
- மறுபிறவி (reincarnation (rebirth into samsara)) → மறுபிறப்பு (the Christian new-birth word, Jn 3:3)
- அவதாரம் (Hindu avatar) → மனுவுருவெடுத்தல் (incarnation)
- மோட்சம் (Hindu liberation) → இரட்சிப்பு (salvation, O.V.)
