These are the proposed renderings of FHB's key terms. The heart of the review: wherever English says our Father, the rendering must feel like a beloved child addressing their own father — warm, reverent, natural to your language's Bible — and never the distant generic word for "God." Register
Reverent contemporary Brazilian-Portuguese Bible register in the wording family of the João Ferreira de Almeida tradition — matching the Nova Almeida Atualizada (NAA, 2017) and Almeida Revista e Atualizada (ARA): dignified and warm, the cadence a believing reader trusts, but understandable to today's reader. Filial renderings lean on the beloved 'Pai Nosso' / 'Pai celestial' phrasing that tradition already gives to God-as-Father.
Quotation marks
Brazilian editions use double quotation marks “ ” (aspas), with the travessão (em dash) — introducing direct speech in narrative; European Portuguese editions use guillemets « ».
Poetry lines
Poetry (Psalms, Proverbs, canticles) set as indented verse lines, one poetic colon/stich per line, with a deeper secondary indent for the second half of a parallelism — the standard ARA/NAA layout.
