Bible verses for children: what your Father says

Here are nine Bible verses for children from Father's Heart Bible™ — each one a little message from your Father in heaven, telling you how much He loves you. Tap any one to read and listen for free.

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are your works, and my soul knows it very well.”

God made you on purpose, and He did an amazing job — you are wonderful to Him.

Psalm 139:14

“When Jesus saw this, he grew angry and said, "Let the children come to me; don't stop them, for the kingdom of our Father belongs to such as these.”

Jesus wants the children to come close to Him — that means you.

Mark 10:14

“And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”

God knows every little thing about you, even your hairs — and you are so precious to Him.

Matthew 10:30-31

“Fear not, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your Father. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

When you are scared, your Father is holding your hand — you are safe with Him.

Isaiah 41:10

“But to all who received him, believing in his name, he gave the right to become children of our Father,”

When you say yes to Jesus, you become our Father's own child — part of His family forever.

John 1:12

“My Father is my shepherd; I lack nothing.”

God watches over you like a shepherd watches over his little lambs — gently and always.

Psalm 23:1

“For I am convinced neither death nor life, neither angels nor rulers, neither present nor future, nor powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, can separate us from the love of our Father in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

There is nothing — not anything — that can stop your Father from loving you.

Romans 8:38-39

“See what kind of love our Father has given us, that we should be called children of our Father! And we are. The world doesn't know us because it didn't know him.”

You really are our Father's child — that is not pretend, it is true.

1 John 3:1

“Your Father is in your midst, a mighty warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”

God is so happy you are His that He sings over you — like a happy song just for you.

Zephaniah 3:17

A Father just for you

Did you know that God is not far away, like a king on a tall throne who is too busy for little kids? God is a Father — and He is your Father. He wanted you. He made you on purpose. He picked your smile, your laugh, your eyes, and the sound of your voice.

A good father loves to be with his kids. He listens when they talk. He helps when they fall down. He says, "I'm so glad you're mine." That is what God is like — only even better. He never gets too tired. He never gets too busy. He is never far away.

So when you feel small, remember: you have the biggest, strongest, kindest Father in all of heaven. And He loves you more than you could ever count.

God is your good, good Father. He made you, He knows your name, and He loves you no matter what.

What your Father says to you

"Hello, My child. I am your Father in heaven, and I want you to know something very important. I made you. I picked your smile and your laugh. When you were so tiny that nobody could see you yet, I already knew your name. And I already loved you.

You don't have to be the best at anything for Me to love you. You don't have to be perfect. You don't have to win. I love you when you do great, and I love you just the same when you make a mistake. My love for you never, ever gets smaller.

So when you are scared, talk to Me — I am right here. When you are sad, I am close. When you are happy, I am happy too. I am awake all night while you sleep, watching over you. You are My child, and I am so glad you are Mine. I love you so much."

A prayer for children

Our Father, we thank You and praise You for these children. Let them hear Your whisper above every loud or scary thing — the worries, the comparing, the voices that make them feel small. Let them encounter Your love — not as a rule, but as a Father's delight — and know they are Your beloved, apart from being the best or the smartest or the fastest.

Give them grace to receive who they are from You before the world tries to tell them who to be. Father, wrap Your arms around every child who feels scared or sad or left out tonight, and let them feel how close You are. I pray Your protection over them from the enemy, from temptation, from anything that would harm or frighten them, and from despair.

Let them know there is no condemnation in You, that they are fearfully and wonderfully made, and that nothing can separate them from Your love. Let them know You, their Father, as their true home and their safest place. And may they wake up every single day knowing they are loved by their heavenly Father.

In Jesus' name, amen.
