Joshua 16

16 ¹ The lot for the descendants of Joseph went out from the Jordan at Jericho, east of the waters of Jericho, into the wilderness that goes up from Jericho through the hill country to Bethel. ² Then it went from Bethel to Luz, and passed along to the border of the Archites at Ataroth. ³ It went down westward to the border of the Japhletites, as far as the border of Lower Beth-horon and on to Gezer, and it ended at the sea.

⁴ So the descendants of Joseph — Manasseh and Ephraim — received their inheritance. ⁵ This was the territory of the descendants of Ephraim by their clans: the boundary of their inheritance on the east was Ataroth-addar, reaching to Upper Beth-horon.

⁶ The boundary went out toward the sea. On the north was Michmethath; then the boundary turned eastward to Taanath-shiloh and passed by it on the east to Janoah. ⁷ Then it went down from Janoah to Ataroth and Naarah, reached Jericho, and ended at the Jordan. ⁸ From Tappuah the boundary went westward to the Brook of Kanah and ended at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the descendants of Ephraim by their clans.

⁹ There were also the towns set apart for the descendants of Ephraim within the inheritance of the descendants of Manasseh — all the towns with their villages. ¹⁰ But they did not drive out the Canaanites living in Gezer, so the Canaanites have lived among Ephraim to this day, but they have been put to forced labor.
