Ezra 1

1 ¹In Cyrus king of Persia's first year, to fulfill our Father's word through Jeremiah, our Father stirred Cyrus king of Persia's spirit, so that he sent a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and put it in writing:

²This is what Cyrus king of Persia says: "The LORD, God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and has appointed me to build him a house at Jerusalem in Judah. ³Whoever among you of all his people—may his God be with him—let him go up to Jerusalem in Judah and rebuild the house of the LORD, the God of Israel; he is the God in Jerusalem. ⁴Let every survivor, wherever he lives, be helped by the people of his place with silver, gold, goods, and livestock, along with voluntary offerings for the house of God in Jerusalem."

⁵Then the family heads of Judah and Benjamin, the priests and Levites—everyone whose spirit our Father had stirred—set out to go up and rebuild the house of our Father in Jerusalem. ⁶All their neighbors supported them with articles of silver and gold, goods, livestock, and valuable gifts, besides everything freely offered.

⁷King Cyrus also brought out the articles of our Father's house that Nebuchadnezzar had taken from Jerusalem and put in his own gods' house. ⁸Cyrus king of Persia had Mithredath the treasurer bring them out, counting them to Sheshbazzar the prince of Judah. ⁹This was their number: 30 gold basins, 1,000 silver basins, 29 incense burners, ¹⁰30 gold bowls, 410 silver bowls of another kind, and 1,000 other articles. ¹¹The gold and silver articles numbered 5,400. Sheshbazzar brought them all up when the exiles came up from Babylon to Jerusalem.
