A Vine Good for Nothing but Fire
15 1 Then the word of our Father came to me: 2 Son of man, how is the wood of the vine better than any other wood — the vine branch that grows among the trees of the forest? 3 Can its wood be used to make anything useful? Can they make a peg from it to hang anything on? 4 Look — it is thrown into the fire for fuel. The fire consumes both its ends, and its middle is charred. Is it good for anything now? 5 If it was good for nothing when it was whole, how much less when the fire has consumed it and it is charred — can it still be made into anything?
6 Therefore this is what the Sovereign Father says: Like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have handed over to the fire for fuel, so I have handed over the people living in Jerusalem. 7 I will set my face against them. They have come out of one fire, but another fire will consume them; and you will know that I am your Father, when I set my face against them. 8 I will make the land a desolation, because they have been utterly unfaithful, declares the Sovereign Father.
